QCE ATAR Calculator
QCE students study 6 or more subjects across Year 11 and Year 12. Each General subject produces a result from 0 to 100 combining three internal assessment pieces (total 75%) and one external exam (25%). QTAC scales these results to make them comparable across subjects, then sums your best 5 scaled scores to form an aggregate. This aggregate is converted to an ATAR — a percentile rank from 0.00 to 99.95 showing your position relative to your age group.

Aggregation
In Queensland, General subjects (studied across Year 11 and Year 12) produce a subject result from 0 to 100 based on three internal assessments and one external exam. QTAC converts these results to scaled scores and counts your best 5 scaled results to form an aggregate, which is then converted to an ATAR. You must also satisfy the QCE English requirement (a C grade or better in an English subject).
This chart shows the approximate scaled score at a raw midpoint score for each subject. Subjects above the dotted line scale up (harder subjects), below scale down (easier subjects).
Based on approximate scaling data. Actual scaling varies by year and cohort.

Remember: Scoring well in a subject you enjoy will almost always beat scoring poorly in a "better scaling" subject. Choose subjects you're genuinely interested in.
